GoodWorld Journeys Salon
Terms & Conditions

These Terms and Conditions (“Agreement”) apply to your Journey booking with GoodWorld Journeys (hereinafter “GWJ,” “we,” or “us”). By submitting payment or participating in a Journey, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by this Agreement, as well as by the terms stated in GoodWorld Journeys’ Travel Release & Liability Waiver Form.

As a small family venture that invests considerable time and resources into planning and producing each Journey, we aim to communicate our policies clearly so that we can sustain our work while providing an enriching, joyful experience for all participants.

Program Price Includes

Hotel accommodations during the Journey; daily breakfast; welcome dinner; Salon program sessions; cultural visits; excursions; and farewell dinner.

Program Price Does Not Include

All international and in-country travel costs to and from Greece or Mexico; local transportation (taxis, rental cars, buses, etc.); incidental hotel room charges (including beverages, telephone calls, laundry, and other personal expenses); gratuities; and all meals other than breakfast, welcome dinner, and farewell dinner.

All inclusions and listed activities are subject to change based on local conditions, availability, or unforeseen circumstances. GWJ will make reasonable efforts to provide comparable substitutions when necessary.

Pricing

All Journey prices are quoted and payable in USD. GWJ is not responsible for any fees incurred due to currency exchange or fees charged by your credit card/bank for processing funds in another currency.

Journey Acceptance & Payments

To apply for a Journey spot, each prospective participant must submit an online application form to GWJ.

GWJ reserves the right to accept or decline any application at its sole discretion and without obligation to provide a reason.

If your application is accepted, you will receive an email with instructions on how and when to make your Journey payment(s) to secure your booking.
Failure to make Journey payments by the communicated deadlines may result in cancellation of your booking, which will be treated as a cancellation by you under the terms below.
Unless otherwise stated in writing, all Journey payments are non-transferable and non-refundable after the cancellation deadlines.

Travel Insurance with Medical Evacuation Coverage

We strongly encourage all guests to purchase comprehensive travel insurance. Travel protection can help safeguard your investment in case of cancellation, interruption, medical emergencies, or baggage loss. We especially recommend policies that include “Cancel for Any Reason” and medical evacuation coverage.

Please note that only a small medical clinic exists on the Greek island of Patmos. We urge you to confirm that your policy covers emergency evacuation, as most domestic health plans do not cover such expenses abroad.

By participating in a Journey, you acknowledge that you are solely responsible for obtaining adequate travel and medical coverage. GWJ will not be liable for any injury, loss, damage, accident, delay, or expense resulting from insufficient insurance coverage or your decision to travel without it.

GWJ is not qualified to answer technical questions about travel insurance and cannot evaluate your existing coverage. Please contact your insurance provider or agent for professional guidance.

Required Travel Documents

A valid passport is required for entry into Greece and Mexico. For Greece, your passport must be valid for at least six (6) months beyond your return date.

You are solely responsible for obtaining all necessary visas, permits, and certificates prior to departure, and for any consequences resulting from missing or defective documentation.

Any information GWJ provides regarding visas or travel requirements is offered as a courtesy and may not be accurate or complete. GWJ is not liable for any errors or omissions in third-party information.

GWJ shall not be responsible or liable for losses or expenses incurred due to failure to obtain or present valid travel documents.

Arrival & Departure

It is your responsibility to ensure you arrive by the Journey program start date and to make your own travel arrangements to and from Greece or Mexico.

Cancellation Policy

We understand that plans can change unexpectedly. However, our cancellation policy reflects the significant non-refundable commitments we make to our local partners and suppliers well in advance of each Journey.

To officially cancel your participation, you must email info@goodworldjourneys.com and receive written acknowledgment from GWJ confirming receipt.

There are no refunds or discounts for arriving late, leaving early, flight cancellations, travel delays, or illness. We recommend purchasing “Cancel for Any Reason” insurance for maximum protection.
If You Cancel:

  • 121+ days before the Journey start date: Full refund less a $150 administrative fee.
  • 91–120 days before the Journey start date: Full refund less a $500 cancellation fee.
  • 60–90 days before the Journey start date: The deposit payment is forfeited; the second/final payment may be applied as credit toward another Journey within 18 months.
  • 31–59 days before the Journey start date: Full payment is forfeited; $1,000 credit toward another Journey within 18 months.
  • 0–30 days before the Journey start date: No refunds or credits.

If GWJ Cancels the Journey

GWJ reserves the right to cancel or reschedule a Journey at any time for reasons beyond our control, including but not limited to Force Majeure events as defined below.
If a Journey is canceled due to Force Majeure, pandemics, travel bans, civil unrest, or other unforeseen circumstances, GWJ will refund all payments received, less any credit card fees, planning expenses, and nonrefundable deposits paid to local suppliers. This potential loss will not exceed $500.

GWJ will not be liable for incidental or consequential losses, including but not limited to nonrefundable airfare, visas, or other travel expenses.

We kindly ask that participants refrain from initiating credit card chargebacks, which can delay refund processing. GWJ will issue applicable refunds within 15 business days of a written cancellation notice.

In no event shall GWJ be liable for any indirect, consequential, incidental, or special damages, including emotional distress or loss of income, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

Force Majeure

“Force Majeure” means any circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of nature, government actions or restrictions, supplier insolvency, pandemics, war (declared or undeclared), terrorism, civil unrest, labor strikes, weather events, or other unforeseen events.

If GWJ or our suppliers are affected by Force Majeure, we may, at our sole discretion, vary or cancel any itinerary, issue partial refunds, or provide future travel credits.

Health Requirements

We welcome all accepted participants, but require that you be in good health and able to participate in the Salon without endangering yourself or others.

You must notify GWJ in writing of any medical condition, pregnancy, disability, or treatment requiring special attention that could affect your participation. GWJ reserves the right to decline participation or remove any guest who, in our sole discretion, cannot meet the physical demands of the program or poses a health or safety risk.

Please consult your doctor for specific medical advice before travel. Should you need medical attention while abroad, all expenses will be your responsibility.

Covid-19 Policies & Protocols

Your health and peace of mind matter to us. GWJ no longer requires proof of COVID-19 vaccination; masks are optional. Some guests may choose to wear them for personal or health reasons—please respect each other’s choices.

We recommend taking an at-home COVID test within 24 hours before travel. By attending, you acknowledge that participation involves inherent risks of exposure to communicable diseases, and you voluntarily assume all such risks.

Please notify us promptly if you develop symptoms before or during the Journey. If someone tests positive during the event, they will be required to self-isolate for at least five (5) days and follow local health guidance. Continued participation will be determined by GWJ, with everyone’s well-being in mind.

Denial of Participation

GWJ reserves the right to remove any participant whose behavior is disruptive, disrespectful, or jeopardizes the safety or enjoyment of others. This includes failing to respect the boundaries and privacy of Journey Guest Artists. Such removal will result in immediate forfeiture of all payments made, and no refunds or compensation will be provided. The decision of GWJ is final.

Suppliers & Independent Contractors

Certain services, such as accommodations, transportation, and activities, are provided by independent third-party suppliers (“Suppliers”). GWJ acts only as an intermediary and does not own or operate these services.

GWJ is not responsible for the acts, omissions, or negligence of any Supplier, nor for any loss, injury, damage, delay, or expense resulting from their performance. Any claims arising from such occurrences must be directed to the Supplier concerned.

Each Supplier is subject to the laws and terms governing their services, which may limit their liability.

Reservation of Rights

GWJ reserves the right to make any changes deemed necessary to the Journey itinerary or staffing. In the event that a scheduled co-leader/guest artist becomes unavailable due to illness or emergency, GWJ may provide a suitable replacement. No refunds will be issued for such changes.

Photos, Videos & Content Creation

During the Journey, photos or videos may be taken by participants, GWJ staff, or professional photographers. These images may be used by GWJ in promotional materials, websites, or social media platforms.

If you prefer not to appear in such images, please notify GWJ in writing before or during the Journey. We will make reasonable efforts to honor your request in future use. Otherwise, you grant GWJ a perpetual, royalty-free, worldwide, irrevocable license to use such media for publicity and promotional purposes.

Thank You

We sincerely appreciate your understanding and partnership in supporting a creative and respectful travel community. Our policies enable us to design meaningful programs that connect people through art, culture, and shared experiences.
