The light of Greece opened my eyes, penetrated my pores, expanded my whole being.
What a time to be alive in this age of peril and possibility of great magnitude. And what better place to metabolize it all here on Patmos and in this sea.
Island of Patmos, greece
Since exploring the idyllic magic of Patmos during their honeymoon in 1987, GoodWorld Journeys founders Jenny and Dan have returned again and again — each time inviting new friends and fellow travelers to share in the experience.
They were immediately drawn to the island’s natural beauty, but also to the richness of Greek culture: its deep sense of history, reverence for hospitality, and rhythms of daily life shaped by land and sea. Beyond Patmos’ beauty, Jenny and Dan also sensed that the island holds space for reflection, connection, and deep conversation. Between its hidden coves and hills of wild thyme and fig trees, there is a peaceful intimacy to the island that draws visitors inward as much as outward.

The Magic of Patmos
Patmos offers scenic sanctuaries, quiet beaches, and charming tavernas in lovely landscapes and vistas. An ancient monastery crowns the seahorse-shaped island, surrounded by a whitewashed old town of carved stone buildings and winding pathways.
The so-called “Jerusalem of the Aegean” is known as a sacred isle — the holy rock that inspired Saint John’s Book of Revelation in the bible. Alongside its religious heritage, the island holds a more subtle kind of spiritual magnetism: a rare stillness and sense of presence that invites contemplation and inspiration. It’s no wonder that over the years, Patmos has become a haven for writers, musicians, filmmakers, painters, designers, and philosophers who return for its quiet mystery and muse-like energy.
For guests of GoodWorld Salons, Patmos becomes more than a destination — it’s a setting for creative unfolding and shared presence. Mornings might begin in quiet reflection or with engaging conversation, while afternoons offer time to wander, write, or dive into the sea. As days stretch and soften, a sense of connection builds — to the place, to each other, and to one’s own inner life. Many leave the island feeling renewed, surprised by what surfaced when they gave themselves space to slow down and listen.

San miguel de allende, Mexico
It didn’t take long for GoodWorld Journeys founders Jenny and Dan to fall in love with the heavenly desert light that falls daily upon San Miguel de Allende. After making it their home base in 2016, they’ve spent the last decade exploring the city’s rich offerings in art, music, and food, and forming lasting connections with the local community.
There’s something magnetic about this radiant gem of a town nestled in Mexico’s central desert highlands. San Miguel de Allende seems to hum with creative energy, its pastel-colored buildings and centuries-old churches providing a perfect backdrop for exploration and inspiration. Part of the town’s magic lies in how art weaves effortlessly into everyday life. From impromptu street performances to intricate handmade crafts in the local markets, San Miguel lives and breathes artistry.
